STLHE2010: Intl Conf of The Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher (Jun 2010, Toronto)

The Conference, “Creative Teaching and Learning: Exploring, Shaping, Knowing” recognizes the important place of creativity in pedagogical approaches in higher education. This Conference will provide an opportunity for stakeholders in all areas of higher education to share and explore what creativity means in teaching development, curricular design, and teaching methodologies, as well as fostering creativity in students.

The Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) invites proposals for presentations at its 30th Annual International Conference, June 23-26, 2010, in Toronto, Canada.

The Conference theme will support the many points of view of stakeholders in higher education and focus on creative aspects of teaching and learning including (but not exclusively):

  • Experiential learning
  • The teacher’s medium
  • The art of education
  • Transformational curricular design
  • Digital futures
  • Multiple literacies
  • Generational bridges
  • Developing students’ intrinsic desire to create
  • Inspiring and valuing learning
  • Creative partnerships

Individuals are invited to provide presentations, debates, workshops, round table discussions, and posters that stimulate discussion of the role of creativity and fostering creativity in higher education. As always, we also encourage presentations on the issues and practices that are most compelling in your world of learning.

Who Should Attend

STLHE 2010 will be of particular interest to:

  • University and College teachers
  • Educational, instructional and curriculum developers
  • University administrators
  • Students interested in teaching and learning in higher education
  • Government officials with a responsibility for higher education
  • Business, public service and community group members interested in higher education


All proposals should be submitted by January 15, 2010.

    With five years of action research at BMW Plant Leipzig, I have opened just recently the LockSchuppen (which will act as a connecting hub for creative people working on innovative solutions around hard to tackle human and societal problems and issues).

    We would be highly interested to present the finding on how PeerCoaching will have a positive impact on the present education without disrupting rather co-evolve it in the coming years.
