2014 IEEE Intl Conf on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics (Oct 2014, San Diego California)

Dates: 5-8 October 2014
Location: Paradise Point Resort and Spa, San Diego, California
Website: http://www.smc2014.org
Deadline for submission of papers, posters, etc: 7 April 2014

SMC 2014 is the annual flagship conference of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society. It provides an international forum for researchers and practitioners to report up-to-the-minute innovations and developments, summarize state-of-the-art, and exchange ideas and advances in all aspects of systems science and engineering, human machine systems, and cybernetics.

SMC 2014 is dedicated to Norbert Wiener, the “Father of Cybernetics.” In honor of the 120th anniversary of his birth, the theme of the conference is

From Norbert Wiener to the Cyberworld

Papers related to the conference theme are especially solicited, including theories, methodologies, and emerging applications. Contributions on theory and practice, including but not limited to the technical areas as listed below, are invited. In addition, papers are invited for the 4th Workshop on Brain Machine Interfaces Systems to be held during SMC 2014.

SMC 2014 has five categories of contributions: regular session papers, special session papers, short papers, demo papers, and posters. Short papers and demo papers are new categories that are being introduced for the first time at an SMC annual conference. They are intended to promote applied research and applications, as well as facilitate collaboration between industrial and academic members of the SMC community.

The deadline for submission of all categories of papers and posters is April 7, 2014. All contributions are to be submitted electronically through the Conference website, and will be refereed by the Program Committee for originality, significance, quality and clarity. Accepted papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings.

Please view the SMC 2014 website, http://www.smc2014.org, for details on submitting papers for SMC 2014.

About Fil Salustri
I'm a design methodologist and Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada. Adjectives that describe me include: secular humanist, meritocrat, and long-winded. Some people call me a positivist too, as if that were a bad thing. Go figure. My real home page is http://deseng.ryerson.ca/~fil.
