CHI Student Research Competition (SRC) at the CHI 2012 conference in Austin Texas (http://chi2012.acm.org/) is a forum for undergraduate and graduate students to present their research, exchange ideas, and improve their communication skills while competing for prizes up to US$500. If you are a supervisor for undergraduate or graduate students, please share this CFP with them. If you are a student with a research idea worth showcasing, please consider participating in the competition!

The submission package includes:

  • Non-anonymized, 6-page extended abstract
  • A poster
  • Proof of student status

A group of judges will review the submissions and provide feedback for the students. A sub-set of students will be selected to present their work at the conference (note: CHI will provide travel grants up to US$500). At the conference, each student will give a poster presentation. Based on the juried poster session, a group of students will advance to the final round and give a short talk.

Important dates:

  • Submission deadline: January 9, 2012
  • Notification: February 10, 2012
  • Camera-ready deadline: February 17, 2012
