Call for Papers

ICID goes back to the basics and looks at the nature of interaction design by exploring its attributes and expression of actions.

Even though interaction design is a relatively new discipline, the development of its theories and practice has made much progress since the 1980s. But what is interaction design? How does one design interactions? What are the technologies of interaction design. How are interactions managed? These are basic questions, however we have not reached a satisfactory answer.

We would like to invite researchers, practitioners, educators and students to submit papers and case studies on the properties and attributes of interaction (what) and the application and realization of interaction (how). We believe that your contribution will not only enrich the knowledge on interaction design, but also include you in the shaping and developing interaction design in China and Asia as it is gaining its recognition in the region.

Review Process

Abstracts are limited to 500 words and a bibliography. Papers are limited to 4000 words.

Papers may be written in English or Chinese. Papers written in Chinese will require the title, abstract, keywords, and section titles to be written in both Chinese and English.

Abstracts will be reviewed by two reviewers in a double blind review process. Resulting invitations to submit full papers will be accompanied by reviewer comments and suggestions. Submitted papers will be reviewed, and acceptance of an abstract does not guarantee acceptance of the subsequent paper. Every attempt will be made to have one of the original reviewers to review the paper. Review comments and suggestions will be sent to the author to help polish the paper for the final submission.
