Papers are sought for a special issue on Information Modeling and Big Data: Issues and Challenges for sustainable manufacturing, to be published by ASME Journal of Computing and Information Science in Engineering. We hope to get papers from different engineering disciplines to bring out common issues and specific challenges that characterize the field of sustainable manufacturing. We welcome full-length research papers, as well as, application papers that address implementation issues.

It is with great pleasure that we announce the call for papers for the 6th Information Design International Conference [CIDI], which is a joint event with the 5th Brazilian Conference of Information Design and the 6th Information Design Student Conference [CONGIC].

The former two are biannual scientific events promoted by the Brazilian Society of Information Design [SBDI], with the aim of bringing together professionals, researchers and students to discuss information design issues. The Information Design Student Conference [CONGIC], on the other hand, is a scientific event directed towards students and recently graduated professionals, who have developed research in this field.

Objectives:
Signs and symbols are one of the possible safety precaution measures that can be taken to attempt to reduce accidents and injuries in workplaces and public areas. They are also used to deliver regulations, directions, navigations and guidance in all locations and all sectors where the public has access. In this book, we aim at gathering the latest research and case studies on the design, evaluation, planning and management of signs and symbols in workplaces and public areas. Readership is international and includes professionals like academics, ergonomists, designers, health and safety specialists, organizational psychologists, facilities practitioners, and urban and infrastructure planners would be of interest. The book is also aimed at advanced undergraduate and postgraduate students who are taking a course in information design and facilities management. The book will be organized in self-contained chapters to provide greatest reading flexibility.
